We are on a mission to make the internet safer for everyone. We’re constantly working towards global digital transparency, and even with 48 supported languages and over 12,000 recognized documents, we know this is just the beginning. 

Kaarel is the strategic thinker and visionary behind Veriff. He keeps Veriff’s growing team one step ahead of fraud and competition in the dynamic world of online identification. With plenty of energy and enthusiasm, he encourages the Veriff team to stand for honesty in the digital world. In 2023, he was honoured in the EU Forbes 30 Under 30, in 2020 he was named the EY Entrepreneur of the Year in Estonia and Nordic Business Report has named him one of the 25 most influential young entrepreneurs in Northern Europe.

Jeffrey leads Veriff's operational strategy. He brings 25+ years of leadership experience at technology companies in driving profitable growth and expanding product portfolio. Before Veriff, he was COO at DigitalOcean, a publicly traded cloud computing platform provider, where he built and led a global team of 1,100 – scaling and maturing the business from $180M of revenue to $800M while simultaneously turning around the free cash flow of the company. Before DigitalOcean, he held similar leadership roles at DigitalGlobe (Satellite and Earth Observation) and Trimble (GPS Technologies). 

Hubert leads the Product & Engineering division at Veriff, ensuring that the company’s product and engineering strategy supports its growth and innovation. He has nearly two decades of experience with industry titans such as Amazon, Marks and Spencer, and Sky, where he led significant expansion in their respective engineering divisions while introducing new initiatives and refining existing ones. Before joining Veriff, he was Typeform’s first-ever VP of Engineering, overseeing a streamlined expansion of the company’s engineering team, growing its global presence, and introducing a range of new functions while reducing expenses.

Ulla is Veriff’s passionate legal counsel who ensures that Veriff complies with all applicable laws. She and a fantastic legal team make sure things at Veriff are done by the book. With over 12 years of experience in corporate law, Ulla was the Baltic Regulatory Affairs Manager at Luminor Bank and an Associate at SORAINEN law firm before joining our team. Her secret mission is to prove that law is not boring and that not all lawyers are extremely serious (at least not all the time).

Javier leads the Go-to-Market organization at Veriff. He has extensive experience building companies and helping them increase market share and revenue. Before joining Veriff, he worked as Chief Sales Officer at Hopin and led commercial functions at Dropbox for EMEA and Americas. He is an economist by training and holds degrees from Universidad Carlos III, Erasmus University of Rotterdam, and INSEAD and started his career as a management consultant at PwC and Capgemin. He serves on the advisory board of several startups in the U.S. and EMEA and is also a Limited Partner in Stage2 Capital, a venture capital fund that supports early-stage companies.

Michelle leads the People Division at Veriff to ensure we put people at the heart of the mission, creating a high-performing culture where diversity, authenticity and passion are championed. Michelle is passionate about creating a “one team” approach in which everyone is proud to be a part of, where they can do their best work, realise their potential and have fun! Michelle has built her extensive global experience in delivering the People agenda, working across different global industries from charities to multi-billion dollar businesses, including The Prince’s Trust, Disney, Expedia and many more.

Luke leads Business Operations at Veriff, ensuring that we successfully execute our business strategy and that we move forward as One Veriff. His background lies within the People space, having led Talent Acquisition at multiple scale-ups, including WeWork and Dojo. Following this, he led the People Division at Veriff, with a core focus on enabling decision-making at all levels of the organisation and building a culture of shared success, celebration and learning. 

Karita leads the strategic communications at Veriff ensuring that the company has a flawless reputation and is seen as a thought leader in the IDV industry. She is passionate about working with impactful global businesses and inspiring people to develop new talents. She has extensive experience working in different business sectors and global organizations as a PR consultant and a leader, including companies like Microsoft, Skype, Telia, Wise, and many others. 

The people behind Veriff

Jules Maltz joined IVP in August 2008 and has over 15 years of venture capital and startup experience. He focuses on later-stage venture investments in rapidly-growing software and Internet companies. Jules was recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 100 venture capitalists in the world by his inclusion in the 2020, 2019, and 2018 Midas Lists. Jules led IVP’s investments in Buddy Media, Checkr, Dropbox, Eightfold, G2, Grammarly, Hims & Hers, Hopin, Indiegogo, MuleSoft, NerdWallet, Nextdoor, Oportun, RetailMeNot, Slack, SteelBrick, Tala, Wise, TuneIn, Zendesk, and Zenefits. Jules currently serves as a Board Director or Board Observer for Eightfold, G2, Grammarly, Hims & Hers, Hopin, Indiegogo, Tala, and Wise.

Matt Weigand joined Accel in 2013 and focuses on enterprise software and security businesses. Matt represents Accel on the Board of Veriff, Snyk, and Cognite and is actively involved with Accel’s investments in Cornershop, G2Crowd, MessageBird, Xero, and GoFundMe. Prior to joining Accel, Matt worked with William Blair’s technology investment banking group.

Simon Levene is a co-founder and partner of Mosaic Ventures, a London-based venture capital fund focused on early stage investing. Previously Simon was a partner at Accel, and served as VP Corp Dev at Yahoo, and Dir Corp Dev at Excite@Home and its predecessor, @Home. His recent Series A investments include Nexar, Clue, Blockstream, and Number Four; and previously Etsy, Fotolia, Squarespace, Shapeways, ResearchGate, and MyHeritage.
